GLENDA GOODMAN
Glenda Goodman leads a multi-faceted viola playing life. Her number one mission is generating and performing new works for her instrument, often working with the composers. She's been heard at the Museum of Modern Art's Summergarden series (where the New York Times critic wrote that she "played brilliantly"), with the Mosaic Trio in major NY venues, and with her improvising duo Victrolophone. Goodman has also collaborated with video artist/composer team King/Diaz de Leon, in the creation of two videos, and playing Persian music with Iranian musician Hafez Nazeri. A Washington D.C. native, Goodman evolved from piano (age 6) to violin (at 9) to viola (by 14), and graduated Phi Beta Kappa and Pi Kappa Lambda from Oberlin in 2004, where she studied with Peter Slowik. As of winter 2005, Goodman is a Masters candidate at the Juilliard School of Music.
