ELAINE KAPLINSKY
Native
New Yorker Elaine Kaplinsky is an active composer and performer (synthesizer/piano)
in
the downtown music scene. With improvisation at the core of her creative
process, she explores the musical vocabularies which have influenced
her: jazz, new music, rock, and world music, combined with a traditional
classical education.
Her work also reflects a commitment to both acoustic
and electronic music. Kaplinsky has toured extensively in Europe and
the U.S., and has received continued grant support from Meet the Composer.
Past projects include Hildegurls, Trousers, and the Koan Pool.
