PETER KIRN
Peter
Kirn, (composer/performer) received a Bachelor of Arts in music from
Sarah Lawrence College, where he studied with Chester Biscardi and George
Tsontakis. Currently he is a PhD student at the CUNY Graduate Center,
where his principle teacher are Tania Leon and Thea Musgrave. Kirn's
work has included an in-progress chamber opera and original libretto,
musical theater, music for dance, electronic music, and chamber music,
including collaborations with poet Todd Colby and choreographers Kathy
Westwater and Heather Larson Shaw. Kirn was recently featured at the
2001 Non Sequitur Festival at the Clark Studio Theater and the 2001 International
Computer Music Festival in Seoul, Korea. In addition to composing, Kirn
serves as a music technology specialist, assisting musicians and composers
with integrating music technology into creation and education.
