ED SCHMIDT

Ed Schmidt wrote and performed The Last Supper, which played for two years to sold-out audiences in his kitchen and dining room. The Last Supper, was recently performed at the Bonn (Germany)Biennale and was featured this fall at the Philadelphia Live Arts Festival.His other plays have been produced by the Old Globe, Pasadena Playhouse, George Street Theater, Sacramento Theater Company, Chicago Theater Company, LA Theater Works and the Voice of America.

Now at work on a piano theater piece (The Gold Standard) with composer/pianist Jed Distler, Ed continues to explore those core issues in the relationship between audience and performer and in the "value" of art. The work will unfold month-to-month in serial installments beginning October 11, 2004, at The Cornelia Street Cafe.
