ELLIOTT SHARP

Elliott Sharp leads Orchestra Carbon, Tectonics, and Terraplane. His compositions have been performed by the Radio-Symphony Frankfurt, Ensemble Modern, Ensemble Rezonanz, Continuum, Flux Quartet, and
Zeitkratzer and collaborators have included qawaali singer Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, blues legend Hubert Sumlin; cello innovator Frances-Marie Uitti; jazz greats Sonny Sharrock, Jack deJohnette, and Oliver Lake; and Bachir Attar of the Master Musicians of Jahjoukah. His composition for orchestra "On Corlear's Hook" premiered at the Frankfurt Klangbiennale, May 2007, his "Quarks Swim Free" premiered
at the Venice Biennale, September 2003, and his chamber opera " EmPyre" premiered at the 2006 Biennale.
