MOLLY THOMPSON
Molly Thompson is a composer and performer living in New York City. “The Great Hush” is her most recent work written for flute and recorded sound. Margaret Lancaster performed the piece at The Salvador Dali Museum in St. Petersburg, FL as part of the 2002 Bonk Festival. The New York Times described Thompson’s solo piano composition, “Our Mingling Arms”, as "rhapsodic music with modal passages, jazzy outbursts and exuberant chaos." (Anthony Tommasini April 30, 1999). Thompson’s music can be found on CRI’s Solo Flights CD (2000). Current projects include a new composition for
the California Ear Unit and a music theater piece commissioned by Composers Collaborative Inc.
