LOIS V VIERK
A reviewer recently described Lois V Vierk as "one of the most interesting composers to emerge from the New York experimental scene in the last decade." Her rich, colorful compositions often utilize the principles of "Exponential Structure" which she has developed, and feature directional, developmental forms that build to high energy climaxes.
Ms. Vierk's music has been commissioned and played by a wide range of performing groups, including the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, Lincoln Center, the Regakusha ensemble of Tokyo, the Kronos Quartet, Ursula Oppens, Bang On A Can Festival, the IGNM Ensemble of Zürich, Ensemble L'Art Pour L'Art of Hamburg, Frederic Rzewski, Music From Japan, and Ensemble Modern. Moreover, her music has been performed at major venues all over the world, such as Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, Darmstadt, the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, the Huddersfield Festival, the Schleswig-Holstein Festival, the Edmonton New Music Festival (Canada),
the Suntory Summer Festival (Tokyo), and the Adelaide Festival (Australia).
