Eva Wiener is an active composer with a wide body of work, ranging from solo piano works to pieces for percussion groups, string quartet, chamber ensembles, voice, and an even opera for children. Meanwhile, she has also become an advocate for women in music and is currently the Membership Chair of the organization New York Women Composers.
Ms. Wiener studied both piano and harpsichord, and has written many works for piano, both solo and with other instruments. Her music has been performed widely, including performances by the SUNY Buffalo Percussion Ensemble, the Mannes Percussion Ensemble, the Tufts University Conference on Women in Music, the Duo Piano Mini-Festival at the Whitney Museum at Philip Morris, the Bang On A Can Marathon, and the Edmonton New Music Festival. In addition, her music has also been employed in videos produced for cable television.
