Non Sequitur (1998-2008)
Non Sequitur showcases curated multi-disciplinary collaborations between
composers, writers and visual artists that culminate in a run of performances brought together by the irrepressible Literary Curator Regie Cabico and "Downtown piano magus"(New Yorker), Music Curator Jed Distler. It takes place at the end of August as a theatrical run of performances at The Flea Theater, HERE Arts Center and who knows where next.
Dynamic Duos (2002-2004)
From 2002 to 2004, a brief but intense wave of creative mayhem in downtown
New York between composer/writer teams - Jed Distler & Ed Schmidt, Regie
Cabico & Molly Thompson, Guillermo Castro & Douglas Geers - first at the
Zipper Room, next at the Bowery Poetry Club, and finally at what would
quickly become our home base, the Cornelia Street Café. New music wiggles
out of the concert mold, intertwines with poetic dialogue and dramatic
situations. Watch for these pieces as they develop slowly and substantially
on Serial Underground.
Solo Flights (1995-2003)
From 1994 to 2003 Solo Flights presented recitals some of new music's most
persuasive keyboard advocates and composer/pianists from established pianists Frederic Rzewski, Robert Helps, Jed Distler and other legends in the making such as Jenny Lin, Marija Ilic, Claudia Ruegg and Tomoko Mukayama.
