KATHLEEN SUPOVE
Pianist Kathleen Supové occupies a unique position among contemporary music pianists through her continuous search for the new and provocative. Her acclaimed Exploding Piano series has evolved into a multimedia experience combining theater, vocal rants, performance art, electronics, dance, and staging. Supov? has appeared with The Philip Glass Ensemble, The Lincoln Center Festival, Essential Music, and in two-piano recitals with Anthony De Mare. Her solo CD Figure 88 (CRI) was named one
of the Ten Best Releases of 1993 by Tim Page in New York Newsday.
A top Prizewinner in the 1984 Gaudeamus Competition for Interpreters of Contemporary Music in Holland, Supové has received major grants from the National Endowment for the Arts, the Copland Fund for Music, Meet the Composer, and The Mary Flagler Cary Charitable Trust.
